Local Organization Invites Public to Congrès Bid Event
Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Longfellow State Evangeline Historic Site
12:00pm - 3:00pm
Lafayette, LA – The organization Louisiane-Acadie is encouraging community members to participate in an event for the 2014 Congrès mondial acadien bid. As part of the presentation, organizers will host a party dubbed “Fête de Famille”, which will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22 at the Longfellow-Evangeline State Park in St. Martinville.
This unique event will showcase various aspects of the planned programs for the 2014 Congrès. Some of the scheduled activities include a Cajun jam, a simulated family reunion, cooking demonstrations, lectures, a performance by Renaissance Cadienne and more. However, this effort will only be effective if people participate. “Making Louisiana’s presentation memorable is key, and we invite anyone interested in having a good time, meeting new people and contributing to this state-wide effort to come join us at Longfellow-Evangeline State Park,” announced Louisiane-Acadie vice-president Elaine Clément. “Bring your mother, father, kids, grand-kids and venez passer un bon temps!” Admission is free.
