The African American Museum and the Acadian Memorial and Museum are closed for the time being due to the COVID19 pandemic.   All public events for the next month have been cancelled.  We will let you know when they will re-open.

January 25. Vigilantes on the Bayou.  
Re-enactment of a pre-Civil War battle between local farmers and wealthier planters.
  Battle re-enactment, campsites, cooking demos and more. Admission fee.

March 21, Annual Acadian Memorial Heritage Festival.  
Museum style festival highlighting Cajun tradition and music. Featuring wooden boats, music, dancing, food and drinks, vendors, theatre, storytelling, film and readings.

April 16. Cycle Zydeco comes to St. Martinville!
3-day bike festival comes through St. Martinville between 11 and 2.
Local food for purchase and music.

May 2020. Traditions and Tales. 
Diverse, multicultural, intergenerational festival.
Includes storytelling, music, dancing, games, tea party and more.   
10am – 3pm. Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site.

July 28 – Day of Remembrance  
Pay tribute to those Acadians who suffered deportation and exile in 1755 from their homeland.

Join us as we judge the best okra dishes in Southwest Louisiana.

October – 29th Annual Kiwanis Pepper Festival 
Festival with live music, arts and crafts, vendors, food, drinks and the famous pepper eating contest. Take part in the Pepper 5K run and 1-mile fun run.

November – Annual St. Martin Creole Farmers Market Chariot Parade 
Traditional handmade illuminated chariots made from cardboard boxes are pulled on the church square in competition for trophies and prizes.

December – Supper on the Square  
Enjoy an evening of music, food and drinks around the theme of Réunion de Famille and old family recipes all around the Historic St. Martinville Square.
